Visiting Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday inspected the Teracotta-
Museum of Qin Teracotta Army (Warriors) and Horse.
The Museum which is believed to be constructed some 1800 years ago in
commemoration of Qin Shi Huang, the first king of the Qing dynasty.
It was discovered just four decades ago (in 1974). The Teracotta Army
(Teracotta Warriors and Horses) are taken as the most significant
archeological excavations of the 20th Century of China. It is believed
that some 60,000 clay idols of armies (warriors) were buried wishing for
the safety of the departed soul of Qin.
After visiting the museum, Prime Minister Oli said he was happy to get
an opportunity to see in person the Chinese heritage under the UNESCO
list. ‘The museum gives a picture of rich and glorious Chinese
civilization’, PM Oli wrote on the museum visitors’ book.
