The government has so far found 21,518 ropanis of land belonging to the late King Birendra Shah.

The Nepal Trust has discovered the lands in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok, Dhankuta, Kaski, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan and Surkhet districts of Nepal.

In the last fiscal year, the Trust had discovered 15,273 ropanis of land belonging to the deceased royal family members.



Bhim Prasad Upadhyay, Secretary at the Trust, said that the Trust had found 836 ropanis of land in the year 2007/08.

According to Upadhyay, the Trust would send an investigation team to inquire the concerned District Office of Land Revenue.

Likewise, the monetary asset of the deceased royal family members amounted to Rs 37 million; Sterling Pound 47,000 and USD 137,014.

The team will be visiting Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Bara, Rupandehi, Nawalparasi, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts to investigate on the matter.
