Nabina Lama has been elected new Chairperson of the CPN-UML-aligned All Nepal National Free Students Union.

The 22nd national general convention of the ruling party’s student wing elected Lama to the top post for next two years.

Lama had defeated her sole rival Deepak Gautam to secure the leadership.

Lama is believed to be loyal to party Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli while Gautam is supported by party senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
