Heavy rain and landslides courtesy of El Nino slammed the California coast earlier this year, triggering coastal erosion that left a set of apartments teetering on the edge of a cliff in the city of Pacifica.

The apartment residents in one building were evacuated in late January.

Now, officials say apartments in the area will have to be demolished, although the fate of the recently-evacuated building remains unclear.
One 20-unit apartment building along the coast that was deemed uninhabitable in 2010 will be demolished beginning March 8. Another building in the area has already been torn down. In mid-January, the city declared a state of emergency amid rising concerns over the erosion. The video above was captured by Dave Kent Monday with the aid of a drone.
